EXTREME TREE HOUSES

The Missouri Botanical Garden is proud
to host a TREEmendous summer of activities
in celebration of the U.N. International Year of Forests.

A juried selection of extreme tree houses is now on display,
together with a weekend of artisanal tree crafts and design,
including wood turning, violin making and
a chain saw artist who will turn a 5-ton oak tree trunk
into a carved grizzly bear (in 2 days time).

Come celebrate the beauty and importance of trees.

    These are so cool. I think tree houses awaken the child in us, or is it the monkey? Yep, I would love to live in a tree house. Hahahaha!

    Maybe i'm misunderstood but.. celebrating the international year of forest making tree houses?? Isn't a little bit ironic?

    And hey, i love extreme tree houses, i never had one =/ (childhood details haha). But you know, it's like.. celebrate human freedom in jail.

    Splendid photos --Rick, loks like you had a good time.
    We have the Tree House people in southern Oregon, fabulous architecture they make beautiful homes, I have some fab photo's of the structures -- some day I will post them,,,,when you were in Oregon I wonder if you ever went there and saw them. They published several books of there earthy delightful homes.
