OZARK RIVER
BEAUTY AND BOUNTY
Along Missouri's Ozark streams
there's much beauty to admire
and wild foods for the taking.
Soon the wild blackberries will turn
from red to black, sour to sugar sweet.
The ice cold spring fed waters
hold tangy watercress for a summertime salad,
and fresh rainbow trout if you can catch 'em.
Wild leeks and mushrooms are still to be found
(if you know where to look).
And there's wildflowers on every river bank
and surprises down every road.
Soon the fire flies will flash
in the night time air.
The holiday weekend is here.
I love the blackberries!!!
