WATER LILIES IN BLOOM
Tropical water lilies are in full bloom
at Missouri Botanical Garden.
Water lily ponds have been a tradition at
St. Louis' famous botanical garden since the 1800s.
Today, modern lily reflection pools are a year round feature
in front of the Climatron tropical geodesic dome.
A wide variety of water lilies sport colorful blooms
from underneath the water throughout August.
A popular feature are the giant Victoria Amazon lily pads
which are the largest in the world, supporting hundreds of pounds.
Shown here is a female visitor standing on a pad,
supported by a Victoria lily (in an archive photo
at Missouri Botanical Garden, in the late 1800s.)
Preciosa serie fotográfica llena de color y una fantástica luz y reflejos, buen trabajo Rick, recibe un fuerte abrazo

ReplyDeleteTe dejo unos haikus de nenúfares:
Agua calmada.
Entre un nenúfar y otro
un pez de rayas.
Clarea el día.
Las hojas del nenúfar
siguen mojadas.
En el estanque
sobre el quieto nenúfar
una libélula.
Saludos.
Beautiful. They look like painting. xx
