THE WORST CHRISTMAS GIFT

. . . has to be the Chia Pet planters.

(They're so bad, they're good!)

Just fill these terracotta planters with water,

apply chia seeds in the grooves,

and 1-2 weeks later seeds grow into fur or hair.

They're only sold at Christmas time.

They were first introduced in 1980,

sold primarily at drug chain stores.

Combined sales are 1-million planters.

Believe it or not, over 1-million Chia Pet

planters are sold annually.

Chia Homer Simpson

Chia Scooby-Doo

Chia Sponge Bob

Chia Po

Chia Taz

Chia Obama*

*Walgreens National Drug Chain has since

withdrawn Chia Obama from its stores.

"Too political," the store manager said.

(I might have to figure out who gets a Chia Pet

for Christmas this year.
