Pic Today 1/19/12

Bricks are much more than building blocks.

They're beautiful, durable
and, until the mid-20th century,
totally hand made.

They come in different sizes, color and finishes
depending on the application.
Bricks can be crude, finely finished,
and even embossed with designs and names.

When brick buildings are demolished,
the bricks are saved to be used again.
In fact, used bricks can be twice as costly as new ones!

Bricks are collectable.
Old ones are auctioned as "fine art."

Bricks are beautiful.

  1. Well, that's quite a fact but here in my country this art is so comman that nobody values it as such!

    Have a great day :)

  2. Muy buenos detalles de estos adoquines, todo tiene su historia amigo Rick, recibe un abrazo

  3. Bricks are beautiful indeed. In Sugar Land, Texas every new building constructed after a certain period must contain brick even just in the facade. It makes the place look homogenous but you know what? It is a beautiful city and people feel as if they have to behave there, no thugs, something of that sort, although thieves do victimize the affluent. I like the brick wall with the paint.

  4. Adoquines, que buenas imágenes...un saludo.
