This rare calico lobster was discovered
in a New England restaurant,
as it was cleaning its 1,200-gallon lobster tank.
Jasper White, veteran seafood chef and owner,
of the Summer Shack restaurant,
in Cambridge, Massachusetts,
saw the yellow-orange spotted crustacean
from across the room.
He knew that dappled yellow lobsters
are one-in-30-million rare,
and saved him from the cook's pot.
The lobster is currently in quarantine, and
eventually headed for the Biomes Marine Biology Center
in North Kingston, Rhode Island,
where he will be on display
and live to a ripe old age.
(Lobsters can live for 70-80 years.)
He's been named Calvin,
and all agree
he is one lucky lobster!
