At the World Coffee Competition in Vienna,
visitors got to see many ways to make coffee . . .
different cultures, traditions and styles,
some going back thousands of years.
From modern steamed espressos
to ancient Cesve/Ibrik coffees on an open fire . . .
the many forms of hand brewed coffees
(filtered, pressed, drip) . . .
small batch roasting, custom grinding,
latte art and final cupping presentations.
Each step and technique is important in
creating a perfect cup of coffee.
The most important ingredient, of course,
is the barista who prepares with passion
a delicious coffee experience.
The very best baristas, from 58 different countries,
were recognized, judged and awarded honors
for their excellence at the
2012 World Barista Championship in Vienna.
