Pic Today 10/5/12

"TASTE
 BUT DON'T SWALLOW"

. . . that's the secret at a
   professional wine tasting!

Ask any sommelier
how they taste wine after wine
(sometimes, hundreds of wines)
at a trade wine tasting . . .

and stay standing?

Even when distributors and wineries
pour only a half-ounce of wine
in the tasting glass,

they swirl, they taste, they spit out!

They taste without swallowing,
and last the day.

(Most of them, anyway.)

  2. ...but I often wonder how they can remember the taste of one after another when they sample so many? Do they rinse their mouth? I love the photo of the corks. Do you know that cork comes from the bark of an oak tree the specie Quercus suber? :)
