DAYLILIES:
EDIBLE BEAUTIES

Fields of daylilies
color hillsides and yards
with carpets of orange.

They offer chefs and home cooks
some delicious recipes as well.

Daylilies are completely edible
 and downright delicious . . .
the flowers, root tubers and
especially the slender flower buds.

In fact, daylily buds are often called
"poor man's asparagus."

Add flowers to a summer salad, or
sauté the buds for a delicious
addition to your next stir fry.

Yum!

  1. I had no idea they were edible especially since the stamens are poisonous to dogs and cats! very interesting and lovely shots

True, add flowers to a salad is great, some I have tried and liked!
You is a publicist. The last picture speaks only ...
