GEMS ON THE BEACH

Beach glass comes in all colors
and is free for the taking,
tumbled by the surf
and left on most beaches.

These "gems" are common in green
and white, but can be found in all colors.

The source, of course, are discarded bottles
and glass containers, which are broken
down and polished by the ocean.

When I lived in San Francisco,
I often visited Rodeo Beach in the
Marin Headlands . . . a famous spot
for collecting beach glass.

  2. Luckily they are polished and not sharp anymore. Very beautiful 'stones' and something I didn't knew.
