TEXTILE TRANSFORMED

This massive shimmering tapestry
was created by Ghanaian artist, El Anatsui,
who painstakingly assembled it
from discarded liquor bottle tops.

Each foil cap was removed, flattened
and stitched together with copper wire.

The piece, entitled Faded Cloth,
is now on display at the St. Louis Art Museum.
