Pic Today 2/3/14

1967 - 2014

Sad, sad news today . . .

Talented and much admired actor,
Phillip Seyour Hoffman,
has died at the age of 46.

His film credits include Best Actor
Academy Award for Capote, and a long list
of motion picture credits, including

The Master
The Big Lebowski
Almost Famous
Charlie Wilson's War
The Talented Mr. Ripley
Red Dragon
Boogie Nights
Before The Devil Knows Your Dead
Punch Drunk Love
Long Day's Journey Into Night
Pirate Radio
Hunger Games

He performed most recently on Broadway
in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman.

He reportedly died of a heroin overdose.
He is survived by his wife and 3 young children.

He was truly a gifted actor who transformed himself
into a wide variety of memorable roles.

A tragic loss.
He will be greatly missed.

  1. Most of these famous people have strange lives...
I guess they are so disconnected with the real world that they don't know how to enjoy life anymore.
In the news here, they talk about a suicide...
He was a good actor, we saw most of the movies he stared in.

  2. Three young kids and a wife. Their hearts are broken. Addiction destroys many lives. The lucky ones die, their survivors continue to suffer. This is sad. i think he was in that baseball movie too.
