HAPPY FULL BUCK MOON

Tonight's full super moon is called a
"Full Buck Moon."

The name dates back to when Native Americans
kept track of the seasons by giving names
to recurring full moons, like this weekend.

A "Full Buck Moon" happens when the full moon
rises and sets at this time of the year,
and male deer (bucks) begin to grow their new antlers,
starting with velvety bumps on their foreheads.

So if you find yourself howling this weekend,
now you know the reason why!

(Feel any velvety bumps growing?)

  3. HAHA!!
I wouldn't enjoy having antlers growing on my head, it would be such a nuisance on the pillow! LOL!
Interesting stuff though, American Indians have still, I hope, many things to teach us!
    Enjoy your sunday!
