ST. LOUIS
MOSAIC MASTERPIECE

The largest mosaic collection in the world
is contained in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.

With original construction of the cathedral in 1908,
installation of the mosaic interior started in 1912.
Dozens of artisans were involved in the
design and installation,
including Tiffany Studios in New York.

Covering 83,000 square feet,
the cathedral mosaic art contains
41.5-million glass pieces,
in 7,000 colors.

Worth a visit,
the cathedral is open daily for
self-guided tours.

The acoustics of the Echo Pipe Organ
(from Carnegie Hall, no less)
are amazing.
