BRILLIANT:
CARTIER IN THE 20th CENTURY

From hat pins to crown jewels,
this fabulous, over-the-top exhibit
of Cartier's greatest works
were on display at the Denver Art Museum.

(And I was lucky enough to view it
on the exhibit's final day.)

Hundreds of millions of dollars in
commissioned jewelry was assembled
which included crowns, tiaras, necklaces,
broaches, bracelets, and phenomenal
presentation pieces . . .

for royalty, movie stars, maharajas,
and discerning customers
with very expensive tastes.

My favorites . . .
a 485 carat blue saphire pendant (OMG)
and an exquisite double crocodile necklace!

(Did you know PEARLS were more rare
than DIAMONDS when most of these
pieces were made?)

  1. Buen reportaje Rick, estoy de acuerdo contigo en las dos joyas que has elegido como favoritas, el collar de cocodrilo doble es una maravilla.

  3. Priceless...

We are naturally atracted to jewels because of its glow... but pearls even not so shiny... are very very beautiful.

    Pearly kisses
