BOSNIANS IN ST. LOUIS
The largest Bosnian refugee community
in the United States is located in St. Louis
(an estimated 40,000 since 1995.)
20 years ago, in July 1995, General Ratko Mladic
and his Serbian paramilitary units captured
the village of Srebrenica and systematically
massacred more than 8,000 Bosnian men and boys.
It was the greatest atrocity on European soil
since the Second World War.
Most of our Bosnian community gathered yesterday
to commemorate lost loved ones, and
They are a proud and wonderful asset to our city!
