Pic Today 11/5/15

"THERE'S GOLD
IN THEM THAR HILLS, BOYS"

It's a well known line
from several famous movies,
even a Mark Twain book.

But the line is originally
attributed to the Director
of the U.S. Mint,
  in Dahlonega, Georgia . . .

trying to convince miners to
stay in Georgia to look for gold,
and mine for Georgia ore
and not chase an impossible dream
during the 1849 "gold rush"
clear across the country
at Sutters Mill, California.

Our gold is in the woods this week,
shining bright in the sunshine,
as trees get ready to drop their leaves
before winter winds blow.
