AVERTING FLOOD DISASTER

Meramec River flood waters came within inches
of entering this classic fishing cabin at Richart Spring.

Unlike so many other houses and businesses
along hundreds of miles of Missouri rivers and streams,
this property and structure were saved from
damaging flood waters.

The cabin was completely surrounded by
record setting flood waters,
with gravel roads and drives erased by the river,
but that's easily repaired.

Interestingly, large deposits of fine river sand
were deposited on beaches on and around the property.
(And that was a rare gift.)

There are few Meramec flood stories
with outcomes this wonderful.
We indeed dodged a bullet.

So grateful.

  2. Interesting pictures, displays the environment.
Floods receive money from the injury time, good if you succeed in combat.
