DOGWOODS IN BLOOM

Dogwood trees are easily identified
by their 4-petal flower, with several
varieties now in bloom.

The pink flowering dogwood is commercially
available, and a popular variety for homes and parks.
In the wild, throughout woodlands in the
Eastern part of the U.S., the genus is white.

Early native Americans used the fruits
for jams and cooking, and as a medicine
colds and flu.

No mistaking these beautiful
pink dogwoods throughout town.
