Pic Today 8/10/16

Now is the time to hike in the woods,
hunting for fabulous, delicious
chanterelle mushrooms.

Bright orange, unmistakable color,
but wait . . . not all that unmistakable!

Other orange fungi are lurking
in the woods, awaiting your discovery,
in a very similar shade and color.

Here are three wild discoveries
from the Missouri wilderness:

Jack-o-Lantern, Sulphur and Chanterelle.
Two are delicious; one is poisonous.
Can you tell which is which?

(Photo #3 is the true chanterelle.)
Bon appetite.

  1. Mmmmmm... I love the mushrooms but I can't tell which is the poisonous.
    Kisses, Rick.

  2. Picking mushrooms have to be careful not to get lost in the pan toadstool.
Chanterelles grow here as well, really delicious mushroom.

    Beautiful crisp photos!

  3. Bonjour Rick,
J'adore les champignons mais je ne pourrez te dire lequel est dangereux.
    Bel après-midi !

  4. Fabulous photos Rick!

Do you know that we can eat EVERY mushroom?
It's true!! The odd thing is... SOME you will eat only one time in your life!

    (it's a joke, ok?)
    Funny kisses
