The world's top rated chess masters
are in St. Louis this week,
competing for the $150,000 top prize
in the 4-day Grand Chess Tour tournament.
The "who's who" of chess masters
play each other at the St. Louis Chess Club
in the fashionable Central West End.
(St. Louis has become a well known mecca
for chess teachers and students,
and attracts families who want their children
to be exposed to world famous tutors.)
At the end of Sunday's tournament play,
the top 3 players are:
1. Hikaru Nakamura (USA)
2. Magnus Carlsen (Norway)
3. Maxime Vachier-LaGrave (France)
The St. Louis Chess Club offers
introductory classes (all ages, all levels),
and free sidewalk chess tables
for the public.
