STRETCH, BREATHE, ACT

Working on my depression lately.

Recently read the advice of
noted psychology pioneer,
William James, who states
"our emotional state is 
tightly bound to our actions
and bodily states."

He writes "we don't laugh
because we're happy,
we're happy because we laugh."

Stretching, breathing and acting
can bring huge benefits, he adds.

I've never practiced yoga,
but I believe this is what he's
getting at.

At its base, yoga is very simple.
"Just breathe, and act," he writes.

I intend to take my first class
later this month.
(Taught by my daughter, Maggie,
no less.)
No lotus position, just moving,
breathing, and letting it out.
