MAGNIFICENT MORELS

Good morel hunting in Missouri.

Once each Spring, when the rainfall is sufficient,
and winter has left finally gone,
and the sun warms the forest floor . . .

it's time to hunt for morel mushrooms.

This year, the hunting was good.
Morels are plentiful and plump.

(Sorry, but I can't divulge the exact location.)

There seems to be enough for all!
Hurry, they will soon be gone.

JEWEL OF THE ADRIATIC

"Venezia é una cittá magica."

Venice is indeed "a magic city,"
a place of indescribable beauty
and one of my very favorite destinations
(and infinite photo opportunities.)

A good friend is traveling there tomorrow,
and in her honor I share these images today.

Buon Viaggio!
Una grande vacanza a Venezia.

LIFE IS GOOD
when we think it's good.

Life is bad
when we don't think.

(Don't you love it
when anonymous strangers
stick white coffee cups
in a highway overpass fence
to spread the word?)

LIFE IS GOOD.
Pass it on!

FAREWELL KIRKWOOD HOBBY STATION

Trains are an important part of Kirkwood, Missouri . . .
from its early days in the 1800's
to its current freight and passenger routes.

And for the past 25 years,
this has included model train enthusiasts
shopping at Kirkwood Hobby Station,
just down the street from Kirkwood Train Station.

After 25 years in business,
Kirkwood Hobby Station is closing its doors.
Through the years, this popular hobby shop
has featured a variety of model trains (all gauges),
model kits for airplanes, boats, rockets and historic replicas.

How many of us will always remember
the electric train running 'round the tree on Christmas morning?
Thank you Kirkwood Hobby Station.

We shall miss you, and wish you well in your retirement.

EARTH DAY FESTIVAL

(Sunday, Forest Park, St. Louis)

Perfect weather, sunshine and
thousands of "flower children."
And it was all FREE!

Music, dance, food and fun . . .
face painting, art demonstrations,
hands-on kids projects, weaving, tie-dying,
"green" ways to conserve, recycle and
be kind to the earth.

This year's festival theme:
BE THE CHANGE!

Everyone joined the parade through the park,
even momma goose and her 5 little goslings!
