Soft pleasant light,

gentle rains.

Which is all a preamble to

today's winter storm warning.
Big snow fall coming.

Oaks and elms.

With tangled webs of roots

and surface feeders,

like fingers reaching out

to feed  and support 

its growth and health.

THE ULTIMATE INSULT

Reminds me of my first ad agency job.

The president would have the copywriters

come into his office and read their 

ideas out loud.

If he didn't like it, he would roll

the copy into a tight little ball,

and throw it out his window.

This always made me laugh out loud.

Words weren't necessary.

PIZZA FROM SCRATCH

The only thing better than

watching them make

     and throw a Dewey's pizza . . .

is eating a slice.

So glad they're just up the street.
