OHIO STATE MARCHING BAND

SALUTE TO HOLLYWOOD

Ohio State University has taken

marching bands to a new level.

And in honor of all the Thanksgiving Day

college football games today,

this is a video tribute to the greatest

college marching band in the U.S.

At the Ohio State/Penn State halftime show,

they treated the audience to a

"tribute to Hollywood",

including Superman, Harry Potter

and Jurassic Park,

when they brought T-Rex to life.

Oh my!

That's what guests were served as a final course

at the 34th Rogue Underground Dining Event.

7 creative and inventive gourmet courses

prepared meticulously by passionate chefs

in surprising and unlikely locations

at the very last moment.

That's the mission statement of 

the Rogue Underground Dining Society.

23 guests were served this event

inside a wine importer's warehouse!

Not fancy.

Just overwhelmingly delicious

and very fun

(for chefs, staff and guests.)

IN TOWN

There's a new donut shop in town,

and it's STRANGE

(and that's a good thing.)

STRANGE DONUTS has been open for just 6 weeks

and it's already on "America's Best Donut Shop" list.

6 creative and unusual donut flavors

are featured each morning,

in addition to classic favorites.

And customers line up early to get their favorites

(open everyday at 6:00am)

until they sell out.

Crowd favorites include the Campfire

(with toasted marshmallow, of course),

the Elvis (banana cream with chocolate sprinkles),

Apple Bacon and Red Velvet.

Owners Corey Smale & Jason Bockman

are thrilled with their success,

and promise "strange flavors" in the future.

Strange Donuts is located in downtown Maplewood,

NIGHT LIGHTS

AT MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN

Our beautiful botanical garden 

has been transformed into a

winter wonderland of 

holiday lights and electric decorations.

And it all happens at night!

Christmas trees, solar powered lights,

floating color orbs, fantasy tunnels,

sparkling garden mazes,

performing snow nymphs.

A great way to kick off the holidays

with night lights at Missouri Botanical Garden.

ONE PICTURE CAN CHANGE

A PHOTOGRAPHER'S LIFE

Dan Farrell of Long Island, New York

(now 83 years old)

holds the historic photo he took

of John F. Kennedy, Jr.

saluting at his father's funeral.

This single photograph,

taken as the president's coffin

departed the funeral mass

near St. Matthew's Cathedral,

in Washington, D.C.

(3 days after the November 22 assassination)

brought Farrell international fame

and haunted him till this day.

Watching young JFK Jr. salute his father

was, says Farrell,

"the saddest thing I've ever seen

in my whole life."

(Today marks the 50th anniversary

of the tragic assassination of

our 35th U.S. President.)
