COLORS HIDDEN

IN WINTER'S WHITE

The world turns white with snow and sleet.

Every scene is stark, in black-and-white.

Until you look closely,

and there are colors hidden everywhere.

They're waiting to be discovered.

I think they've got it wrong.

February is the l-o-n-g-e-s-t month

not the shortest,

as we wait for Spring to come.

"The birds are gone; the ground is white.

The winds are wild; they chill and bite.

The ground is thick with ice and sleet,

And I barely feel my feet."
