THE U.S. CAPITOL

Sitting atop the highest point

in Washington D.C.

is the U.S. Capitol building.

Inside the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol

are fabulous statues and paintings

from our country's earliest days,

and the seat of our Congress.

The best view, I think, 

is reserved for "Freedom",

the grand lady in bronze

which sits 286-feet atop the 

Capitol dome.

The plaster model, from which this bronze

statue was made, resides inside

for visitors to see up close.
