CONSERVATIVE vs LIBERAL

As we draw near to the upcoming elections,
we sort out what's important to us.

MIGHTY LILY PADS

Mo. Botanical Garden has long
featured Amazonian lily pads,
strong enough, they say,
to support the weight of a human.

Vintage photos prove the claim.

Examine the structure of these
mighty lily pads, from underneath.

Amazing structural design,
built to withstand.

PICKIN' UP PAW PAWS

If you've never picked a paw paw,
now's the time.

Put them on your sill,
let them turn dark and soften.
Cut them in half.
Remove the large dark seeds.

And enjoy the soft custard flesh.
It's like a banana flavored custard.
Creamy and delicious.

"Way down yonder in the paw paw patch."

HAMILTON POSTPONED
AT THE FABULOUS FOX

I was fortunate enough to attend
the first St. Louis performance
of Hamilton 2 years ago.

And so was so excited to get tickets
to the encore performance this summer.

But COVID-19 caused this summer's
event to be postponed, possibly
later this fall.

One thing for sure,
the only theater equipped to handle
this production is
the Fabulous Fox Theater.

Patiently awaiting the dates.

Musical theater at its best!

THE CLIMATRON IS OPEN AGAIN

Closed since April, when the pandemic
changed our lives, the Climatron opened
yesterday at the Missouri Botanical Garden,
for the first time in 5 months.

R. Buckminster Fuller became famous
for the geodesic dome,
the strongest, lightest, most efficient
means of enclosing a space
yet known to man.

And since the 1980s, the Climatron
has captured a tropical rain forest
year round in a natural environment.

So worth a visit, especially during
the colder months.  Call for reservations.
You'll be glad you did.

THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER

Showered with gifts from
daughter, Maggie and Phil.

Hand made cards and art
from grandchildren, Metta and Eli.

Such a creative family.

So thoughtful, so loved.
And it didn't even rain!

CLEANEST FIRE ENGINES
IN KIRKWOOD

Kids are fascinated by
firemen and fire engines,
especially watching them
get washed and cleaned.

You'll never see a
dirty fire engine
in Kirkwood, MO.

TRUMP COURTING JEWISH VOTERS?

Hardly!

Just another mispronunciation of
our country's best known national park
by our president,
struggling to read a prepared statement.

I guess he doesn't get to rehearse
his speeches in advance.

A stroke of luck for the National
Museum of American Jewish History,
who printed up YO SEMITE t-shirts,
and sold a record number of shirts
sinceTrump's now famous flub.

The museum's gift shop has sold
more than 2,000 shirts at $26.00 each.

MAGGIE, THE POET

When my first born
displayed early talents
for "original verse,"
I started saving
how she rhymes.

This one in 1988,
when she was 11.

Priceless.
