GIANT BRICK SILOS

STAND GUARD

at the old Lemp Brewery,

now abandoned.

Once one of the great St. Louis breweries,

established in 1840,

and later acquired by Griesedieck Beverage Co.

(which later became Falstaff Brewery),

the Lemp Brewery buildings still stand.

A testament to a bygone era, 

when St. Louis gave birth to great breweries

(like Anheuser-Busch),

the giant Lemp brick grain silos 

continue to complete the skyline of

a great St. Louis neighborhood.

Interestingly, the Lemp Brewery complex

was built above a network of natural caves

which provided natural "air conditioning"

before the advent of refrigeration.

The network of 27 brick buildings

is built for the ages, and now

available for commercial use and lease.
