some too faint to read . . .
including an 18th century volunteer
who fought the war of 1812,
surviving to live 86 years . . .
a young soldier who died in
World War I, but brought back
to be buried in this Missouri farm field . . .
and young Sarah Minerva,
who died too young, at 17,
with a gravestone much larger
than life.
Lives, stories, memories.
Preserved in this quiet farm field
with its town long gone.
Cemeteries fascinate me.. though sad and solemn they speak for those who lived in days gone by. Lovely post.
