COLD FRAME
WINTER SALAD
Never mind freezing cold evening temps,
there's still salad fixins ready to harvest
thanks to a home-made "cold frame"
in the outdoor garden.
Just stretch sheets of 6mm polyethylene plastic
over bent wire supports, and secure over plants.
Voila!
Instant mini-greenhouse cold frames.
Toasty warm protection for spinach and greens.
Cut what you need.
Rinse and toss with bosc pear slices,
red onion and dijon vinaigrette.
Home grown, just picked January salad.
Yummm.

Oh yum! I was just thinking yesterday that I need to look into setting up a vegetable garden... middle of summer probably not the best time to do so though...
