SWEET FRAGRANCE IN THE AIR
You can smell the floral sweetness in the air,
especially now that rains are falling.
An innocent looking vine has been growing
and covering fences, hedges and porches.
Tiny cream colored flowers are now
exploding on each vine.
With a perfumed fragrance that
is noticeable in streets and yards.
It is Sweet Autumn Clematis
in its prime.
And you better watch out,
it could cover your fence
and even hide your mailbox.
(Looks like an improvement,
if you ask me.)
