WINTER TROUT FISHING
ON THE UPPER MERAMEC

The best time to catch trout
is when no one else is fishing.

The winter waters are always
calm, clean and clear,
especially on the upper Meramec River.
Especially at dusk.

Like yesterday.
And the fish were biting!

    Have you noticed how slippery trout are when they come out of very cold water?
    I had to look twice...looks like me.
