BEE HIVE COOKIE JAR

My autistic art student, John,

likes cookies, and honey bees.

And so, when we started making

a coiled clay pot in class,

he thought it looked like a bee hive.

So we made a bee hive cookie jar.

Can't wait to fire it, and glaze the 

finished piece.

He hasn't decided what color glaze

to use.

(Maybe canary yellow!)

YOU CAN SEE IT

IN THEIR EYES 

Each of these chosen dogs

has been rescued or saved,

and trained to be a "therapy dog."

Volunteers take them

to visit "special needs" students

and convalescent patients.

Their visits provide unmeasured joy

and comfort to so many.

Their tails wag with 

unrestricted love.

EGGS OF A DIFFERENT COLOR

Helping collect eggs

on a warm Sunday morn.

I asked why some were

   a different color . . . 

"Different chickens," she said.

("Of course," I thought to myself,

wishing I hadn't asked.)
