HOW TO STAY COOL
There's a terrible heat wave covering most of the U.S.
Record-setting 100˚ plus consecutive days . . .
drought conditions, no rain for past month . . .
brush fires, forest fires . . .
millions of households without electricity . . .
that means "no air conditioning" . . .
daily death reports from over-heating . . .
police bans against watering lawns . . .
cancellation of municipal fireworks displays . . .
Midwest farm crops wiped out by drought.
This 4th of July holiday,
I escaped down to the Meramec River,
where it's always cool and refreshing.
God bless Missouri's spring-fed ice-cold streams!

Diatoms! I see billions of diatoms. Cool indeed. I love to tak a dip if I were not drawing microrganisms this week. Hahahah! Keep cool. It is hot here but then again, what else is new? It's always been this way here.
