THE GRAND HOUSES
OF LAFAYETTE SQUARE
Twelve blocks west of the Mississippi River
lies historic Lafayette Square.
Immigrants settled here in the mid 1800's,
and built beautiful granite homes,
each 3-story Victorian house
facing the Lafayette Park.
In the years just before the Civil War
(1850-1862)
these fashionable residences circled
tree-lined Lafayette Park.
Fortunately, each house has been
meticulously restored to its
original Victorian grandeur.
