GORGEOUS GINGKO
Easily my favorite tree, and leaf . . .
the gingko is now turning to its
unmistakable November gold.
I love photographing the gingko
(aka "maidenhair tree").
Each leaf is a work of art.
Like Chinese fans,
waving in an autumn wind.
Quickly turning gold,
and then dropping to the ground
all at once.
Covering the ground below
in a beautiful yellow carpet.
(This tree has ancient roots,
with fossils dating back
270-million years.)
I've never seen this tree. It looks fantastic, and the leaves looks very beautiful in fall.
