IRIS IN THE RAIN
Holding up well,
under our relentless showers.
Fact is
the elegant petals of the iris
serve very practical purposes,
bending inwards to protect
the blossoms from our
pounding rains and
sudden frosts.
Ingenious
as it is beautiful.
