THEY KEPT THE TEETH
THEY PULLED

Did you know,
until the invention of x-rays,
dentists' primary service
was "tooth extraction."

Their tools to extract
were fiendishly primative,
with some drugs and liquors
to deaden the pain.

Did you also know
it was common practice
to keep the teeth
they pulled?

(Morbid, or what?)

    I think being a dentist, at all, is kind of creepy. Nothing I hate more than a trip to the dentist. Always uncomfortable! In the olden days I would have drank until I passed out before a tooth extraction.
