MARDI GRAS PET PARADE

Pets got in their steps Sunday afternoon

for a good cause.  The Purina Pet Parade is

part of the annual Mardi Gras celebration

in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis.

This is the 27th annual event, and now

the largest costume pet parade 

in the entire world.

But the event hasn't all gone to the dogs,

as many other animals get dressed up

and show their costumes or floats

along the parade route.

Organizers asked human participants

to donate $10 to the Open Door

Animal Sanctuary.
