SHADOWS
IN OLD ST. CHARLES

On the banks of the mighty Missouri River,
historic St. Charles Missouri
remains much the same settlement
as it was in 1804 when Lewis and Clark
began their famous westward expedition here.

Originally settled by French Canadian fur traders
in 1769, the river city soon attracted settlers
who built sturdy brick homes
which line Main Street today.

This historic town attracts tourists and locals
who trace the early origins of explorers
who headed west in the earliest days
of our country.

Yesterday's sunny weather
cast hard shadows throughout
the town.
